Frequently asked questions

What is startup scouting?

Startup scouting is the structured process of finding startups that match a specific corporate innovation thesis. Dealflow.eu maps strategic priorities, surfaces relevant EU-funded deep tech startups, and runs due diligence on shortlisted companies. The output is a curated pipeline of startups the corporate can pilot, partner with, or acquire.

How does Dealflow.eu run Innovation Days?

Innovation Days are curated, one-day events where 6 to 10 pre-vetted European deep tech startups pitch to a corporate’s innovation, R&D, or M&A team. Dealflow.eu handles sourcing, vetting, agenda design, and post-event follow-up. The corporate leaves with a shortlist of partnership candidates and a defined next step for each.

What is the EIC Corporate Partnership Programme?

The EIC Corporate Partnership Programme is a European Innovation Council initiative that connects corporates with EIC Accelerator startups for pilots, partnerships, and investment. Dealflow.eu is an official partner of the programme, providing corporate clients with structured access to the EIC’s portfolio of European deep tech companies.

How long does a corporate scouting engagement take?

A Dealflow.eu corporate scouting engagement runs 4 to 12 weeks for an initial sprint, followed by ongoing support to convert leads into pilots or investments. Faster timelines work when the innovation thesis is sharp. Longer timelines apply when the thesis is still being defined alongside the scouting work.

What sectors does Dealflow.eu scout for corporates?

Dealflow.eu scouts European deep tech startups across industrial tech, energy and climate, mobility, life sciences, advanced materials, AI, and semiconductors. Past corporate scouting engagements include pharma, automotive, energy, food and beverage, and industrial manufacturing. Any innovation thesis tied to European deep tech can be scoped.
