With a programme of keynotes, panel discussions & pitches from the 12 Innovation Radar Prize finalists, this unique event will highlight the compelling investment opportunities emerging from the EU-funded startup ecosystem.

The Innovation Radar Summit will happen right before the Web Summit and will be conveniently located close to its venue.
The Innovation Radar, a groundbreaking initiative by the European Commission, seeks out high-potential innovations and innovators within EU-funded research and innovation projects. Since 2015, we have celebrated the best EU-funded innovators through the annual Innovation Radar Prize, gaining significant exposure to the influential EU investor community.
The Innovation Radar Summit, co-organised by the European Commission and Dealflow.eu, in partnership with Eura AG, Dealroom.co, the European Startup Nations Alliance (ESNA), Startup Lisboa, and Microsoft.
The Innovation Radar Summit is a unique opportunity to give visibility to those innovators that are willing to embrace the journey of commercialisation. Check out the winners of previous editions.
The Innovation Radar Prize Categories
The 12 Innovation Radar Prize finalists are competing in three different categories:
Panel discussions
In addition to the competition, the event will feature two engaging panels and a keynote speech hosted by experts in the EU startup ecosystem, multiplying the opportunity to network.
1 – Digital Markets Act (DMA): ‘Opportunity creation engine’ for European startups
2 – How can Europe facilitate access to funding to foster startup ecosystem
3 – Keynote speech (yet to be revealed)
The Innovation Radar Summit Timeline
More than 200 companies applied to the Innovation Radar Summit 2023 and, following a thorough scanning, 36 were selected to compete for a pitching spot at the event. The 36 startups participated in an online open voting, which was weighed against the judgment of outside evaluators, experts in the field, who assessed companies within their area of focus.

Matt Smith is a former Venture Capitalist and 2x unicorn investor, turned exited-founder and Author of the Startup Buzzword Dictionary.
Today, he is better known for his energetic, entertaining and educational performances as an acclaimed speaker, host and broadcaster.
Fun fact, Matt represents South Africa in XC Skiing and lives in Oslo, training for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Innovation Radar Prize
All finalists of the Innovation Radar Prize will receive prizes from sTARTUp Day or EBN (European Business and Innovation Centre Network).
sTARTUp Day business festival brings together 3500+ startup-minded people to celebrate entrepreneurship in the smart city of Tartu, Estonia on January 24-26, 2024.
- Prize for all finalists: 12 tickets for sTARTUp Day festival – 1 per finalist
- Prize for category winners: adding to the ticket for sTARTUp Day festival, 50% discount to exhibit at the demo area in the festival
EBN (European Business and Innovation Centre Network) is a member association – originally founded by the European Commission – that serves a pan-European, global community of people and quality-certified entrepreneurship support organisations (so-called EU|BICs) using innovative business as a driver for regional (economic, sustainable, and social) development. There are now 100+ EU|BICs and 30+ Associate Members in over 35 countries shaping the global EU|BIC community.
- Prize for overall winner: 2x complimentary tickets for the 2024 EBN Annual Congress ‘Sustainable Industrialisation’ in Nantes (France) with a normal value of more than 750 euros + access to the exhibition space.
